The Sounds of Westminster
"Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy! Sings praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with a psalm!" - Psalm 47: 1, 6-7 The music program at Westminster Presbyterian Church strives to nurture and enhance the spirituality of our Sunday morning worship experience by offering a repertoire of various styles utilizing different choirs and ensembles in order to lift the human spirit in singing our praises to God. Our dedicated adult chancel choir sings at every Sunday morning service except for the month of July as well as provides special presentations during Eastertide and Christmastide. Grace Notes, our elementary choir, is an ambitious group of young singers who provide a musical offering once a month. For our younger children, we also have a pre-school age choir, Genesis. Occasionally all the choirs are combined for a multi-generational sound and message. Our recently formed men's ensemble, The West-men-staires, is comprised of the male section from our chancel choir. They have introduced a gospel flavor to our service as well as traditional style anthems and hymns and have become quite popular with our congregation. We also welcome guest artists, which include instrumentalists, vocalists and local ensembles throughout the year, especially during the chancel choir's vacation month of July.
