Westminster Dog Show

What a fun we had at the WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW!!!!

John Sample grilled the best hot dogs I ever ate, for 50+ of us on the front lawn. Thank you SOO much.  Cynthia accompanied our chef and brought Kiran, Daily and a friend.

Princeton and his family worked like dogs getting out tables, chairs, and offering friendly greetings to all. Bill Vilbig cleaned up behind, Zonia came to help too.
Lisa and Kit Howeth provided lemonade and brought their bandana'd dog, Nip.
The Swartz family lab, Daisy, would have won largest dog and certainly strongest until Quinn came. Rumor has it they have another huge, exiled lab.

Prizes were awarded to:
1) Largest dog: Norman and Merry Ross'/daughter Peggy Walker's months old Quinn.
Peggy raises and trains care giving Leonberger dogs that weigh upwards of 100lbs.
2) Smallest dog award went to Heidi Betz' dauschound, Chloe.
3) The Best costume award went to a friend of Margot and Bob Knothe's, Page, who had
patriotic bows on her twin dogs, Cagney and Lacy.
4) Most spots was awarded to Jim Fant's pup Katie- the kids counted 80 spots. Anne
McCullough's dog Alfy was a close runner up being part dalmatian. Buster, belonging to
the Bredehoft family, had a lot of spots too.
5) The most extraordinary dog award was just too hard to pick so we handed out chew toys
to all in the category. Margaret Ashley's Golden Retriever met a neighbors Golden and
had wonderful manners as did the Ty Gomez' family jack russell terrier, Abbie.  My
poodle, Rusty, was of course, perfect and managed to bring Pete and Teeka Baldwin
     and Bob Stanton.

In addition to members getting to know our extended families better we had lots of neighbors and pre-schoolers in attendance. All the neighbors wished to extend their thanks for the use of the dog park. I personally loved seeing all the folks using the shade provided by the canopy of our trees below the steeple. Happy Days.
