About our family here at Westminster Presbyterian Church

If you are interested in the chronology, our genesis if you will, please visit our history page. There you will find the story of Westminster Presbyterian Church from the formation in 1892 to present. If you are interested in the nature of our community, this family of believers, read on.
"Welcoming people in Christ"
The Westminster family is comprised of a diverse lot, people from all walks of life. Our members travel from all points of the metroplex to join together in fellowship and worship here at Westminster. We are a mission driven church, eager to serve in Presbyterian as well as ecumenical projects. Although we do not always agree on matters of theology, governance, etc., we love each other dearly. And after all, isn't that the very nature of family?
As a family in Christ, we welcome you to visit us in worship and fellowship. Our arms are open wide to greet you. Sunday school (Education) begins at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and conversation at 10:30 a.m. in the Stewart Fellowship Hall. At 11:00 a.m. we begin worship in the sanctuary. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated the first Sunday of each month and on Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. The Lord's Supper is open to everyone, members and visitors alike. Following worship, we have After Church Fellowship in the Stewart Fellowship Hall usually with tidbit snacks celebrating a member's birthday, baptism, graduation, or other church family occasion. Our worship service is traditional in nature, but often with special music from one of our young choirs or additional instrumentation, all to the glory of God.
You will find that being a dyed-in-the-wool Presbyterian is not required to be a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God. We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God, who gave his life for the sins of the world.
"...since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". -Romans 3:23
God raised Jesus from the dead, vindicating his sinless life, breaking the power of sin and evil, and delivering us from death to eternal life. God acts with justice and mercy to redeem creation. Like a mother who will not forsake her nursing child, like a father who runs to welcome the prodigal home, God is faithful still. In a broken and fearful world, the Holy Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples the love of God, and to live holy and joyful lives, knowing that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. There are three simple questions you will be asked when you decide to join the church.
The three questions we ask:
	1.	Do you believe in God as your Creator?
	2.	Do you believe in Jesus Christ as His Son, and your Lord and Savior?
	3.	In reliance on the Holy Spirit, do you promise to support the ministry of this church?

That's all there is to it. We warmly invite you to join our family, but also want you to know that you are needed in the Westminster family. Jesus calls for your service. Why not answer that call through Westminster Presbyterian Church?
We have designated greeters on Sunday morning, but in truth everyone in our congregation is a greeter with a wealth of information to share. Introduce yourself to anyone you meet in the halls. If you happen to introduce yourself to another visitor, then seek together. We are all one body of Christ.
